FAQs

We are currently in-network with Aetna, and are considered an out-of-network provider for all other insurance companies, which means we do not directly bill your insurance provider. You pay up front for your session and you may or may not be reimbursed by your insurance company. We want to take care of our clients, so we can call your insurance company and relay information about your coverage around mental health benefits and out-of-network providers to you. We will happily supply super bills for reimbursement. If you prefer to call your insurance yourself, we encourage you to ask the following questions regarding out-of-network benefits:
1) Do I have out-of-network benefits?
2) Can you explain my out-of-network mental health benefits for individual (or family) psychotherapy in an outpatient setting, both in-person and via telehealth?
3) What is my out-of-network deductible? What is my out-of-pocket max? What will my insurance company cover for an out-of-network provider?
4) Does my benefit year match the calendar year (starting in January), or does my plan use a different start date?
5) How do I submit for reimbursement?
6) How long do I have to submit my Superbill?

Yes! You may use your HSA for payment purposes. We ask that you have a back-up card on file as there are situations where clients have not been able to cover the entire cost of a session, and our system is not set-up to split the cost over two credit cards. We can make your HSA the default card in our system, and attempt to charge that one first, before your back-up card.

Many insurance plans will offer out-of-network benefits. We recommend you call your insurance company to verify and confirm rates for out-of-network mental health outpatient services - be sure to ask about in-person and telehealth services. See the above questions for what to ask when you call.
You will pay our rate at each session. We are happy to provide you with a Superbill, which is the document that insurance companies need to reimburse you any due payment. We are also happy to submit claims to your insurance company on your behalf. Please inform your therapist which option you prefer.

It varies depending on what you need, and your specific goals. Sometimes clients work on a particular situation or topic, while other times, clients benefit from on-going support. Ultimately, it is up to you to decide what is best, but we encourage you and your therapist to make that decision together with thoughtful conversation.
