SUPPORT FOR THERAPISTS IN COLORADO

Consultation & Supervision for Therapists

HELPING PEOPLE THROUGH THERAPY

You knew from an early age that you were meant to be a therapist…

But sometimes it’s just so draining…

I know what it’s like to be a “rookie,” to be “green” in the field of social work. You’re doing work “in the trenches” yet feel so utterly lost and alone. The Imposter Syndrome is FOR REAL. And your paperwork is piling up. You struggle in setting appropriate boundaries with your clients or advocating for yourself at work. You experience what I like to call “The Sunday Scaries” when you think about going to work on Monday, because it’s All. Just. Too. Much.

Or maybe you’re a seasoned clinician, but you can’t shake the feelings of being overworked, burnt out, and compassion FATIGUED. Working with a Clinical Supervisor could be just the thing you need to add a new, fresh perspective to your work. You never really had a quality supervisor before, so you’re not even sure how a Consultant/Supervisor could help you.

Hey! I’m Ilene.

I am a trained Clinical Supervisor and working toward my hours to become a legit Approved Clinical Supervisor through The Center for Credentialing & Education. I provide clinical consultation and supervision to new and experienced therapists alike. I know what it’s like to have an absent supervisor. One that is so overworked and underpaid, that she doesn’t have time to care. I’ve also worked with stellar supervisors. Those that held my hand when I needed and pushed me outside of my comfort zone when I didn’t think I could.

At the core of my supervision style is a blend of feminist, trauma-informed, and body-mind approaches. I utilize the Integrative Developmental Model as a guide. This helps me match where you are at in your therapist journey to the types of supports you may need.

We will look at the parallel processes that are happening in your work with your clients, examine your own biases, and work to build healthy boundaries for yourself so that you can model this for your clients. And because I am a LCSW, it will always come back to P-I-E (person in environment).

I am trained in Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and in trauma-informed practices. I’m also a Certified Yoga Teacher. I have been providing Clinical Consultation & Supervision since 2017.

How it works.

Step 01

Schedule a free 20-30 minute consultation. All consultation appointments are conducted virtually. Please be online at least five minutes prior to our session in a quiet, private space. These calls give us a chance to get to know each other and to determine if we are a good fit. We will also discuss whether you would benefit from individual or group consultation/supervision, or both.

Step 02

Prior to your first Consultation/Supervision session, you will sign a Contract and complete an intake questionnaire. This allows you time to review our policies and come to your appointment with any questions. Completing your intake questionnaire prior to your session gives Ilene time to learn more about you.

Step 03

At your Consultation/Supervision session, Ilene will go over the Contract and policies, ensuring you understand how this process works. Ilene will help you identify goals for your work together, and how frequently we will meet. Ilene values getting to know you, and spends time building a safe and trusting relationship.

Clinical Consultation

You are a therapist because you have a deeply empathic heart, a keen listening ear, and a knack for understanding the big picture while attending to the small details. You counsel people through their most vulnerable of times. You see the goodness and the strengths where others might only see the challenge or hardship. You convey understanding and compassion when clients feel lost, overwhelmed, and confused. You hold hope, even when others can’t.

Doing what you do is hard. It’s beautiful and wonderful, yes, absolutely, AND, it can also feel difficult, burdensome, and downright exhausting.

Perhaps you need a safe place to discuss the parallel processes that are happening with you and your client?

Maybe you need a trusting clinician who can offer strategies and suggestions when you feel stuck with a particular client?

It could be that you just need to process through all that you’re holding for others?

Or, potentially, you are starting or growing your private practice, and don’t know where to start or where to go next?

In Clinical Consultation, you work with Ilene to identify goals for yourself and your practice. You will receive ongoing support, resources, and guidance. You will find help to sustain this most important work that you’re doing. Appointments can vary in frequency and are flexible to match your needs.

Ilene has been in private practice since 2015. She has built a successful practice from part-time while doing agency work, into a full-time private practice. In 2021, she hired her first therapist and now owns and operates a thriving group practice. She has experience working with children and families in outpatient community mental health and school-based settings, as well as adults across the lifespan in her private practice. She understands how to bill insurance as well as how to market herself to attract private pay clients. She has been providing Clinical Consultation & Supervision since 2017.

Clinical Consultation with Ilene is right for you if you are already licensed as a clinician in the state of Colorado.

Individual and Group Consultation available.

Clinical Supervision

You have so much to give, but the demands of your job seem so heavy. You wonder if your family was right: maybe you are just “too sensitive” for this work? You have the desire to help, to be of service, to hold space for your clients, but you have a hard time separating your work from your life. You need a space to talk about your clients and get advice, strategies, and guidance on what to do and how to help. You are working toward your licensure and need quality supervision.

Clinical Supervision with Ilene is right for you if:

  • You have a social work or therapist job at an agency, hospital, outpatient, or school-based setting, OR you work in private or group practice

  • You are not receiving quality supervision at work OR you believe you would benefit from a Clinical Supervisor outside of your work setting

  • You are currently working toward your hours for licensure in Colorado

  • Can commit to weekly or bi-weekly appointments (dependent on needs)

  • Can grant Ilene access to your client records for documentation and treatment support

In Clinical Supervision, you work with Ilene to develop yourself as the social worker you know you’re meant to be. She will help you hone your therapeutic skills in assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, intervention, and termination. Ilene will provide feedback on paperwork and documentation.

In your work together, Ilene will focus on ways you are taking care of yourself, including boundary work and exploring your own internal belief systems. She will encourage you to advocate for your clients and yourself. Ilene uses the Noeticus Counselor Triangle and Practice Triangle which focuses on your development in Clinical Skills & Theoretical Orientation, Administrative Effectiveness, and Professional Identity all while evolving The Self of The Therapist.
